Washburn Ichabods is the mascot of Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, USA. The mascot was named after the fictional character Ichabod Crane from Washington Irving's short story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". In the story, Ichabod is described as tall and thin with a long nose, which is reflected in the cartoon logo of the Washburn Ichabods. The mascot represents the university's sports teams, which compete in NCAA Division II as a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA). The Ichabods have a strong athletic program with more than 13 national championships across various sports.
